Proposal

• Change the traffic island on Gillies Street at Separation Street to restrict through movements from the north and right turns from the west.

Rationale

The Northcote Local Area Traffic Management Study found that some car drivers were using Gillies St to avoid traffic on Station St. Gillies St is designed to be used mostly by local traffic.

The proposed changes to the traffic island will change how car drivers can move across Separation Street and into Gillies St:

• No right turn when heading east on Separation St into Gillies St
• Drivers on Gillies St approaching from the north will have to turn left or right at Separation St, they will not be able to go through
