There are 19 other roads along the trail that need to be crossed. Each of these road crossings will be assessed and one of the below four options could be considered. If you have any feedback on the road crossings or the trail in general please respond to the question on the home page.

Examples of crossings

  • Raised priority crossing

Shows clearly that people walking and cycling have right‑of‑way.

The raised surface slows cars down as they approach.

  • Priority crossing with traffic calming

Clearly shows pedestrians and cyclists have right‑of‑way.
Uses speed cushions to slow traffic instead of a fully raised crossing.

  • Slow points

Slow drivers by allowing only one vehicle through at a time.
Can include priority‑crossing markings for people walking and cycling.

  • Signalised crossing on a shared‑use path:

Uses traffic lights to give people on the path a safe, timed crossing.
