Your Street, Your Say Group C

Your Street, Your Say is all about improving safety on local streets and neighbourhoods for people who live, work, study, play or travel through Darebin.

In July 2025 we identified improvement locations based on ideas you'd shared with us before.

We drafted concept plans for these locations and now we would like to ask whether there are any gaps.

Your feedback will be considered in finalising the layouts for each of the 20 safety improvement projects, making it safer and easier to move around in Darebin.

Share your feedback by responding to:

proposed concept plans for individual locations (using the links in markers on the map) and questions on speed interventions below the map.

What can your feedback influence?

Negotiable

  • Content of the draft concept plans: Feedback from the community about gaps/impacts to the 20 draft concept plans will be considered. It is possible that considering feedback from the community in technical assessment, officers may recommend for Council to amend the treatment type of the draft concept plans for delivery.
  • Speed safety adjustments on local roads and near schools/activity centres.
  • Potential introduction of raised road safety treatment i.e speed humps/speed cushions/ raised platforms through any future resurfacing of high-speed roads.

Non-negotiable

  • Design standards for specific treatments (e.g. dimensions of crossings)
  • Road safety (i.e. where there is a safety risk to be addressed, the draft concept plan will be recommended to Council for endorsement)
  • Objectives of the Darebin Strategies (eg. Darebin Transport Strategy, Darebin Walking Strategy, Darebin Safe Travel Strategy etc.)
  • Council’s statutory requirements under legislation such as the Road Management Act 2004

Out of scope for this round of engagement

  • Changes to arterial (state government) roads
  • Changes to public transport services
  • Issues not prioritised for this engagement outlined in the Council resolution endorsing round 2 of community consultation. These will not be included in a recommendation to Council as part of the Group C areas round 2 engagement part of this program.
  • Small changes that do not require significant capital investment to change the use or operation of roads (we can help with those separately – just let us know by emailing transport@darebin.vic.gov.au)
  • Parking change investigations where on-streets parking controls like 1P parking are changed in response to community requests for change.
