• Design and install raised zebra crossings on all four sides of the intersection at Newcastle St and Raglan St

Rationale

People walk through the intersection of Raglan St and Newcastle St on their way to Penders Grove Primary School, TA Cochrane Reserve, and local shops, businesses, and other destinations.

In Your Street, Your Say - Group B Stage 1 we heard crossing the road at this roundabout was dangerous because there was lots of car traffic, and some car drivers went too fast and did not look out for people crossing. Traffic speed data confirms there is a pattern of drivers speeding on Newcastle St.

Raised zebra crossings on all four sides of the intersection at Raglan St and Newcastle St will slow cars down and make it easier and safer for people walking to cross.
