• Investigate and design a raised pedestrian crossing on Wingrove St, east of Arthur St

Rationale

Wingrove St is an important route for people walking and riding to Fairfield Station, Fairfield Primary School, and other local destinations.

In Your Street, Your Say - Group B Stage 1 we heard the roundabout at Wingrove St and Arthur St feels dangerous because car drivers go too fast, and trees in the roundabout block vision.

This proposal investigates different options for replacing the roundabout with a T-intersection and identifies a preferred design. Some of the land currently used for the roundabout could become green space, which would make walking and riding in the area more pleasant. A T-intersection would improve road safety for all.

As part of the redesign, the existing pedestrian crossing on Wingrove St, east of Arthur St, could be moved.
