Fairfield Village Progress Update

6 July 2017

Late last year, Council started a conversation with local residents and businesses about how to revitalise Fairfield Village while retaining the unique character of the neighbourhood. Thank you to those of you who took part in the consultation process. You may be wondering where things are at!

The feedback received during the consultation was broad and raised many new ideas including innovative suggestions in response to factors that affect Fairfield Village, such as the impacts of increasing traffic, new development, improving safety for pedestrians and bike riders and transport projects including level crossing removals.

We are investigating some of the potential project ideas raised during the consultation period and undertaking feasibility work, which will delay the development and release of the draft streetscape master plan and development design guidelines.

We are committed to making sure that initiatives for Fairfield Village effectively respond to the future needs of the community, so it’s important to undertake the necessary steps to get it right.

The project community reference group will continue to work with us to provide feedback and input as work progresses.

We are looking forward to releasing draft documents for broad community input and review in the coming months, so please keep an eye on this website for future announcements or subscribe to receive updates.
