What are we doing?
As part of the implementation of the Donath and Dole Reserves Master Plan (2014), Council will be carrying out the following improvements in the coming months:
- construction of a new 2.5 metre wide concrete path along Wagga Road and the north of Donath East Reserve, connecting Wagga Road to Lambassa Grove. This new path will provide safe and convenient access and is the first stage in creating better connections across Donath East Reserve
- Speed cushions on Wagga Road to reduce traffic speeds and provide a safe crossing point for pedestrians and cyclists across Wagga Road
A concept plan showing the proposed path alignment for 2019-20 works is shown above. Consultation letter sent to community members surrounding the reserves is available in the 'Document Library' section of this page.
Background information
The Donath and Dole Master Plan was adopted by Council in 2014. Since its adoption, a number of actions have been implemented including the upgraded youth precinct, playspace, BBQ and shelter area and tree planting.
Construction of the Donath West picnic area and concrete path and a community planting day took place in June 2019 with over 650 plants being planted.
Plans for a potential wetland in Dole Reserve are being finalised. Any potential wetland construction will be subject to available funding in future years.
