Naming Reservoir’s newest park

1 June 2022

The park at the former Ruthven Primary School site currently doesn’t have a proper name. We need your help picking one!

We’ve consulted with Darebin’s Traditional Owners, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultrual Heritage Aboriginal Corporation and Darebin Aboriginal Advisory Committee, to narrow it down to three potential names in Woiwurrung language.

Tell us which name you’d like to see given to the park.

The options are:

Nganga Nyinguwa Park – “gan-ga nee-in-gah-wa” (meaning ‘see and do’ in Woiwurrung language)

Wat Ganbo Park – “what gan-bow” (meaning ‘we are one’ in Woiwurrung language)

Biik Guljin Wayi Park – “bik gul-jin way-ee” (meaning ‘land – people – us’ in Woiwurrung language)

Head to the Naming Ruthven Project page to cast your vote. Voting closes on July 3rd 2022.
