The State Government Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) is removing the level crossing at Keon Parade. The design will include a rail bridge over the road and a new Keon Park Station that will be built in a new location south of Keon Parade. Major works are due to start in 2023, with the new Keon Park Station set to open in 2025.

Council is not responsible for the design, however will advocate on behalf of the community for the best outcomes for our city. We are interested in your views on what we are asking State Government to deliver

Council Advocacy

Council has developed and endorsed a set of Urban Design Guidelines that includes our key asks for the design and delivery of the project. The Guidelines outline the constraints, opportunities and asks identified by Council that we see are important for the site, and the list has been put together based on technical inputs and previous community consultations such as the Darebin 2041 Community Vision and the Donath and Dole Reserves Masterplan.

Our intention is to advocate using the Guidelines, calling for the State Government to address our asks in their project design. This will ensure that the State Government has a clear understanding of what we want to see on this section of the rail corridor.
