New Governance Rules

On 22 August 2022, Council endorsed the Governance Rules to implement permanent electronic (virtual) meetings. This provides more opportunities for people to participate in Council meetings online. Please see the minutes of the Council meeting. Please refer to item 8.6 on p. 22.

Project Background

We want to make sure everyone feels welcome and able to join Council meetings.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns, Councils were allowed to run Council meetings online instead of in-person. Recent changes to the law mean we can now continue doing this.

Online meetings may give people who faced barriers to attending the opportunity to take part. This can include people with disability, younger and older people, and those with caring responsibilities. However some people may prefer attending in-person.

We want everyone to feel welcome and able to be part of Council activities and decision-making processes.

Have a look at the proposed Governance Rules and tell us what you think:

Please provide your feedback by 15 August 2022
