Planning for the future
Have your say on how we manage and maintain Council’s assets over the next 10 years. This is everything from Community Centres people love to gather in, to your local footpath..
We know our growing and diverse community needs a wide range of community facilities and infrastructure over the next 10 years and beyond. Our Asset Plan will help ensure we meet these needs. Council has a commitment to ensure our Asset Plan is sustainable and equitable to meet the diverse needs of the community.
Creating a 10-Year Asset Plan is a requirement under the Local Government Act 2020.
Stage 1 engagement outcome
We asked for feedback on how to manage and maintain Council’s assets over the next 10 years.
Thank you for the valuable feedback you provided during the first stage of engagement. It has helped us understand how we should prioritise and utilise our assets over the next ten years and prepare the Draft Asset Plan 2022-2033.
You can view the community engagement outcomes in the detailed Draft Asset plan.
Stage 2 engagement outcome
We asked for feedback on the Draft Asset Plan 2022-2033 to help finalise the Plan.
The following amendments were proposed in the Asset Plan 2022-2033 from the feedback received to the draft Asset Plan:
- A reference to Council aiming to assist community organisations operating from Council facilities, to seek external grant funding to enhance Council-owned infrastructure
- More explicit reference to waste recycling and resource recovery, including listing Council’s Resource Recovery Centre in the list of Building assets
- A reference to ensuring that relevant facilities cater for informal sporting activities and that Open Space assets are fit for the future, by aligning with Council’s Breathing Space: Open Space Strategy and Outdoor Sporting Infrastructure Framework.
Specific issues raised relating to a neighbourhood or individual assets were forwarded to the relevant departments to address as required.
At its meeting on 27 June 2022, Council adopted the Asset Plan 2022-2033 with the proposed amendments included from the community feedback received.
